What an agent really receives
A customer sees the page once all its scripts have run. An agent generally reads the HTML sent by the server. What arrives afterwards, through a script, may never reach it.
Most of the time, the price and stock are already in the HTML, and the agent finds them. On some websites, they appear afterwards, and it may leave without them.

The test to run on a product page
It takes two minutes, with no special tool:
- Open a product page and display the page source, the one sent by the server.
- Look for the price, availability, sizes and delivery costs.
- Look for a block of product data in schema.org format.
What you cannot find in this code, an agent may not find either.
The five points to check
On your best-selling pages, check each line:
| Point | What to check |
|---|---|
| Price | Present in the HTML of the page, not only after a script. |
| Availability | Stock or out-of-stock readable with no action on the page. |
| Sizes and colours | Listed in the page, not only in a menu loaded afterwards. |
| Product data | A schema.org Product block, up to date. |
| Access | Your robots.txt file and your firewall let through the agents you want to receive. A refusal sometimes comes from a security setting, not a business decision. |
When the page does not give the price
The best answer is still to fix the page. When that is not possible straight away, Qommis can complete the page for verified agents, from your catalogue, without touching your pages.
Fake agents receive the page as it stands.
The pilot starts there: you see what agents really receive on your product pages.
